Training Process:

Embarking on a career as a driving instructor offers a rewarding opportunity to learn a new profession and enjoy the flexibility of being your own boss. Joining our reputable company provides you with the chance to be part of a supportive business community, surrounded by colleagues who inspire and help you develop your business.

To qualify as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), you must successfully pass three tests administered by the Driving Standards Agency (DVSA). The process involves comprehensive training, and the time required to qualify will depend on how quickly you develop the necessary skills and competencies.

**Part 1: Theory Test**

To begin, you will need to prepare for a theory test that covers various driving topics. The pass mark for this section is passing 100 question, 90-minute multiple-choise exam (85% pass mark, 20/25 in each band & a 14-clip hazard perception test (57/75 pass mark).

SJK will provide you with top of the range training materials required to pass your part 1 test, including one-to-one advice and instruction.

We provide access to ‘Top of the Range’ software to help you pass your theory ASAP.

**Part 2: Practical Driving Test**

The next step is a 60-minute practical driving assessment, during which you will demonstrate your driving skills, respond to safety questions, and execute a range of manoeuvres. To successfully pass this stage, you must not accumulate more than six driving faults, with no serious or dangerous faults permitted.

At SJK, you will receive comprehensive instruction based on the standards set by the DVSA to help you succeed in Part 2.

Throughout your training, you have the flexibility to practice in either your own vehicle or an SJK vehicle.

All training sessions are conducted by a fully qualified and experienced Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

**Part 3: Instructional Ability Test**

In this final part, you will demonstrate your teaching skills by instructing a real learner driver.
